Oops. Well, hi! I haven't actually been very motivated to update on things. Um. How's everyone doing? I've been alright! There have been some iffy moments, but I think everything's okay now? Hopefully. =) To make it easier I think I'm just going to cut stuff. If I remember how.

Well, as my shorter post earlier said, I'm an aunt. Which reminds me -- card hunting for people tomorrow. I really want to get them all out so they aren't late. My dad can be a very ..childish, blunt person sometimes, and it's fine when we're at home, but in the movie theatre, no. So I got a little irritated at him when we went to see Harry Potter. He was pretty rude.

Friend-wise, it went rocky for a while there, but I hope everything is alright, and if it isn't, then .. tell me? ^^;; People don't say as much as they should sometimes, myself included, and a lot of problems can be diverted if you just.. said stuff sometimes.

Next up is..

Il Divo is one of my new favorites. Goodness, they have some beautiful songs. I Believe in You (Je Crois En Toi) that they sing with Celine Dion is so.. geez. When they start singing you get goose bumps. I realize it's not the type of music for everyone, but the sweeping melodies are so lovely.

On a different note, the new singer for INXS is hot. And Pretty Vegas is addicting to listen to, though I'm trying not to over play it. It's just so growly and awesome. ^^

Err.. oh! Books.

Urgh. Okay, so I bought Tanya Huff and her Henry Fitzroy series, which I read the first book of then skipped ahead to read the newest book in the new series involving him and Tony, and now I'm all "WHEN DOES THE NEXT ONE COME OUT!?", which, of course, will be a while since the newest one just came out in July. I suck. Speaking of Henry Fitzroy (who is actually a historical figure, ehe), I really liked Mercedes Lackey's books about that time period. Though I've only read the one, and am waiting for the second to come out in paperback.

I'll just toss this next bit under the book section. I've turned into a geek. It would have happened eventually, but I've fallen so far in so short a time. >>;; I bought comics. Teen Titans, Batman, and Nightwing. I'm really fascinated by the arc involving Jason Todd, the second Robin.. mainly because it's him, and I always seem to like characters that are on that shaky line of good and evil. I mean, he's obviously bad, but there are some redeeming qualities, so yes. *hello, geekery*

I expect a lot of people to ignore this next cut. :P

So the guild got reeeeally far in Molten Core, which is one of the 40 person raid zones, and then .. we took like fifty steps back on our next raid, mainly 'cause people suck and never come when they say they will or leave after like, two wipes. It's a hard place people, giving up is not the answer. *grr*

I think I'm coming to a close! Oh oh! My dad finished the dragon cross stitch. *_* It looks so so gorgeous. We're getting it framed, so once that's done I'll post pictures if people want to see it! And.. that's it. Love you all. =)

Elizabeth Denise was born today at 9 o' clock in the morning, healthy, as is her mother, my step sister. ^^ I'm an aunt. That was such a surprise, to get the phone call, and it makes me so happy. I'm really thrilled that the baby is healthy, and so is she. Awwwww, a cute little baby. Ehehe, my mom's a grandmother. ^^

Not much is going on at the moment; baby sat the twins next door, went out for manga today. Hana-Kimi 8 was one, and then the first four of Kenshin.

..oh, Kenshin. *_* The translation is actually very well done, and .. Sano. Sano Sano Sano. Reading this all over again just reminds me that there may be other characters, but no one manages to make me gush and squeal like you do. (When he first makes his appearance? "Eeeee Sano!", even though I'm starting to get sick and I started coughing at the squeal.)

So much love for Sano. He'll always be my favorite. I can't wait until I get to his side story when we meet his family.

Alright, I have to admit, I really like all the characters. ^^;; Happy reading to me!

The world is against me getting any sort of sleep today, I'm thinking. Too many thoughts in my head last night, spent a good portion of the night just getting to sleep. And then I woke up two hours later to the frustration and guilty horror of a dream where I tossed this little old lady into the maw of a big monster thing. I hate my dreams.

I tried to have a nap this afternoon, but first the phone rang and then my cat started snoring, twice, so I gave up.

My grandpa's doing okay. Mentally he's not always there now, but he was actually doing much worse before. It turns out that his liver wasn't working well, if at all, and his system wasn't being cleansed, but the doctors can do something about that. They're freezing the nodes of the four tumors, but it's only temporary until they learn more about it.

The main reason I haven't been updating here is because I'm pretty dead set on a new livejournal name, and I'm cutting ties with this one. But I'm having no luck with a name, so if anyone thinks of a good one, let me know.

My grandfather is dying of liver cancer. I haven't said that before, I think, to myself or to anyone else. It's always been "he has liver cancer". But there's nothing the doctor's can do. He's too old to receive chemo, and since there's four tumors, they can't operate. He also has wounds on his legs, caused by an excess amount of alcohol because he was an alcoholic before.

He's dying, and there's nothing we can do except be there for him and make sure his house is in order so he doesn't have to worry about it. Our family is both at it's strongest and weakest right now. We're banding together, but at the same time, we're falling apart, and it's hard to watch some of the strongest people I know breaking.

Anyways. I wanted to say thank you to everyone -- it's okay if you don't say anything, because there's nothing you can really say to make any of this better.

Watching a person you've loved and known your entire life die slowly, day by day, is the most awful thing in the world, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm not dealing with any of this as well as I thought. I don't want to see him go away. I hate watching him fade. I wish there was some way of just stopping time, but there isn't, and all everyone can do is watch, and I hate it so much.

I'm sorry to everyone I haven't really talked to. I haven't been fit company.

Wow! Excellent day so far! Work's done, so we (my dad and me) finally got around to going candle shopping. Mmmmm, candles. AND. We got a new set of dishes!! Since ours were so old and really heavy. They're so pretty! All blue and sparkly. We took forever deciding on which ones, since there was a sale and all of them were lovely.

Then we got lost trying to get to Stitcher's Heaven. I don't think I've mentioned this to a lot of you, but my dad does cross stitch. Lovely, complicated cross stitch. And .. man. Teresa Wentzler.

Isn't it absolutely gorgeous? He's going to work on a few of his bird patterns before starting another one. The only problem is, I've never, ever seen a really nice gryphon cross stitch pattern. So if anyone ever sees one, point me to it? Pleeease? ^__^

Then we went to the German meat market. Everytime I walk in there I always miss Germany so much; it's my second home, and if I could live there for a while, I would. They had these raspberry candies I haven't seen in a long, long time, so we bought those. All in all, it's been an expensive, but wonderful day.

Whelp. I was doing really good for a while there. But I've messed up, yet again. Damn that coffee pot! You'd think I'd remember to put it in the machine. *sigh* ..coffee everywhere. I still need to wash the cloth covering. Better do that now, actually. My dad wants me to water the plants outside, and our water pressure sucks, so that kind of thing worse (besides, coffee stain? ewww!) and I have a few things in here to do, like clean up.

I ran out of shelf space for books and manga. So I'm moving the books I never read downstairs (anyone want any Dragonlance or Forgotten Realm books? I have most of the series). Main reason for lack of shelf space? I've been on this huge urban fantasy kick. Authors to check out if you want to read good urban fantasy: Kelley Armstrong, Charles de Lint, C. E. Murphy, and Laura Anne Gilman. I also bought A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry; one of the ladies had work had brought it for someone else to borrow, and I read it during lunch, and it's reeally good. General fiction.

First weekend off in a while! Yesterday night I was just so happy to be able to stay up knowing I could sleep in and not have to worry about being dead for work. I'm going to try to write this weekend after I clean up around here. Love you all so amazingly much. Oh, Callie loves you too, 'cause she's cute like that (and ebul).

I have survived through working two weeks straight! I get my first day off in twelve days tomorrow! Wow. XD; Hello, overtime pay.

It's funny how you can remember this story you wrote a while ago, wonder if it's any good now that you haven't read it for a while, and then being amazed once you realize it's actually decent. XD That said, I may be continuing an FY fic I started. It's amusing, because I stole some of the names for characters I've used since (Kavan Mercredi, for one -- two totally different personalities), but I don't want to change them because I've gotten attached to the name in the fic. I'll edit and post the first chapter to see if anyone wants me to keep going with it. ^^

But first, shower and cd!

Okay, so I knew my eyes got strained really easily if I've been focused on the screen for too long, or on pages of a book, but damn. They hurt and are itchy and watery and I can't focus worth anything. My depth perception is all off. Going to take a break, go outside until my dad gets home so we can go grocery shopping. Work went well today! There were a lot of problems, but hopefully most of them were solved. It was also a lovely warm day, but it looks as if we're going to get a storm, which I'm looking forward to. Mmm, storms!

first day of work

It went fine. Tired. Had the awesome luck of catching both buses, and the second time, missing a brief rainstorm. Rain's nice 'n all, but not when I get caught in it.

...Callie's being a dork. See, my dad and I have been home during the day, or I have been, so I think she was extra lonely today because she's on my lap refusing to go away.

..overheated like, whoa. I need a shower. And food. Mm, rice.

A rambling update thing.

So. Yesterday was weird. For one thing, it felt like a Saturday. There's a few reasons for this. ^^;;

My dad works for four days, is off for five, works for five, etc. etc. It's hard to adjust to, but he's enjoying himself thoroughly, which is pretty amusing! Still, having him around the house on a Tuesday is odd.

Like I said, we went out to buy some things. Mostly, his early Father's Day present. XD He wanted a rechargeable whipper snipper for the lawn, so we were going to go to Canadian Tire (which is like Home Depot and stuff), since my grandma wanted a table advertised there. No problem! I was thinking it would be easy to do. We get onto the road, and immediately we notice it all seems different -- why, because traffic was horrible. I've never seen that many people on the roads on a Tuesday afternoon.

My dad ends up taking a different route than usual, and we move into the turning lane behind a bunch of other people, wondering why there's so many people turning, and then realize there's a train. My dad's .. well, he's a very impatient driver, so he turns off to go another route. He turns and .... the same train is slowly going through. But this time, we can't back out. We must've been there for about 15 minutes. The really horrible thing was if my dad had gone the original way, we would've had to wait, but definitely not as long, since the end of the train had moved past that point. >>;;

We get to Canadian Tire, and they have neither the whipper snipper, or the table -- they looked in the back for it for ten minutes. More waiting. It was awful. But yesterday was fun anyways. ^^

I finished Hana Kimi yesterday! SUCH A GOOD ENDING. I flailed. And enjoyed it a lot. And .. cried a bit, too. Soooo good. XD Expect a fic from me soon. Like, tonight soon. I'm hugely inspired.

Okay, I'm making a list of my all time favorite characters from stuff; to make things simple, I'm going to choose one from each anime series (or two at the most).. and to prove my dorkiness I'm going to explain why I love them so! Not in order.

Rurouni Kenshin
Sanosuke! He's the first anime character I actively fangirled over. There was something about his carefree, reckless attitude that I adored. His honorable spirt underneath intrigued me too! He always been a favorite.

Fruits Basket
...I have to pick one or two. Except, you know, I don't really have a specific favorite from this series! All the characters are awesome! If I had to choose, Haru or Ayame. Haru because he's so squishy and sweet (but also dangerous and rawr! as black!Haru), and Ayame because .. well, because he's Ayame, and how can one not love him? XD

Spiral
Kooousuke! He's evil, he kills people, but damn if his snarking doesn't make me laugh everytime I see him. Besides, those glasses of his are sexy. ^^ That said, though, Hiyono is also a favorite because she reminds me of myself, sadly. I adore her to pieces.

Haha, whee, talk about randomly inserting some series. I don't think I've ever talked about this before. But really, Gojyo is a favorite. However, I liked Homura the most. Yeah, the bad guy. Not sure why, don't ask. I just felt bad for him. Oohoh! And their past lives. Konzen, Kenren, Tenpou, and .. well, Goku stays the same. *ahem*

Yohji and Schuldig.
(And now I trail into a pairing ramble: Schuldig/Yohji is a definite favorite. I'm not picky, so any good Weiss fic will make me happy, but these two together.. there's something about their attitudes that appeals to me. I know it's not a favorite with others, so I don't push, but mm.)
Why these two? No clue. It's really one of those liking with no real reason. Close third is Ken, because aw, he's so adorable.

I start work June 2nd. Well, that gives me, what a week? Yeah, a week. -_- That sucks, but I'm glad I have it.

Kind of apathetic and grumpy right now; I need something to cheer me up. I may just end up blasting music, doing the dishes, and maybe cleaning up some.

I've seen, like, one very vague scan from later on in Gamerz Heaven, and it's driving me insane. I hate you. :P Next one comes out in July, supposedly. Curiousity is jumping up and down on my shoulder and throttling me: just how do they know each other? So many options! Ugh, The Ren/Rushness is going to kill me. -_-

Animethon this year is going to be three days(!!). I have .. no one to go with. :( Woe.

In other news, I ended up getting a hair cut on Saturday, so it's all chopped off. Also got very spiffy new shoes. Oh, and a real purse. And light pj's. Yse, my life is very interesting. >>
